About WOVEN STORIES

What is WOVEN STORIES?

Woven Stories is a Sydney-based embroidery studio specialising in live event embroidery, bespoke custom pieces, and beautifully crafted embroidered products available online. Learn more about WOVEN STORIES here.

Where are you based, and where do you operate?

Based in Sydney, NSW. Available for events and commissions across Australia — including interstate travel to Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and beyond.

Who have you worked with?

Past collaborations include SIR the Label, Lessi the Label, and Spicy Pilates — spanning retail activations, brand launches, and wellness events.

What makes Woven Stories different?

WOVEN STORIES offers something most embroidery studios don't — a complete creative service spanning live event
embroidery, bespoke custom commissions, and beautifully designed products available online. Every piece, regardless of format, is designed with intention and made to last.

Custom & Bespoke Embroidery

What is custom embroidery?

Custom embroidery at WOVEN STORIES means one-off, bespoke pieces designed and stitched to order. Unlike live event embroidery, custom work is a slower, more considered process — ideal for individuals wanting a special gift, brands needing a unique piece, or anyone after something that can't be bought off the shelf.

What can be custom embroidered?

Almost any textile can be custom embroidered — apparel, homewares, accessories, and more. WOVEN STORIES will consult with you on the best product for your design, factoring in fabric weight, surface texture, and how the embroidery motif will sit. If you already have a product you'd like embroidered, we can work with that too.

How does a design become embroidery?

Every embroidery design has to be digitised before a single stitch is made. This means converting artwork into a stitch file using specialised embroidery software, mapping out exactly how the machine will build the design—stitch type, stitch direction, density, sequence, and more. It's a skilled process that can take as long as the embroidery itself, and it's what separates a beautifully executed piece from one that puckers, gaps, or loses detail. At WOVEN STORIES, every design is digitised with care, which is why the results look the way they do.

How does the custom embroidery process work?

It starts with an enquiry — share your idea, inspiration, or brief and we'll come back to you with questions. From there we consult on design direction and product choice, agree on a quote, and confirm a turnaround time before any work begins.

Live Embroidery for Events

What is live embroidery at an event?

Live embroidery is an on-site experience where guests choose a design from a curated embroidery menu and watch it stitched onto a product in real time. WOVEN STORIES brings a professional embroidery machine to your event, creating personalised keepsakes that reflect your brand or occasion — and that guests will actually want to keep.

What types of events does WOVEN STORIES work with?

Everything from intimate birthday celebrations and hens parties to large-scale brand activations, retail pop-ups, corporate gifting events, wellness launches, and markets. If you're bringing people together, live embroidery can be part of it.

What products can be embroidered at events?

Hats, caps, tote bags, jackets, apparel, towels, homewares, and more. WOVEN STORIES consults with you to find the right product for your event — we can source items on your behalf or work with products you already have.

How many pieces can be embroidered per hour?

Output varies depending on the product type and the size of the embroidery motif. Both are carefully considered when designing your embroidery menu, ensuring the guest experience flows smoothly, and no one is left waiting.

Do you travel outside Sydney for events?

Yes — WOVEN STORIES is based in Sydney but available for events across Australia. We have travelled interstate, including to Melbourne, for a live embroidery activation with SIR the Label. Interstate bookings include travel and accommodation costs, quoted upfront.

Pricing & Booking

How does pricing work?

All pricing is enquiry-based and tailored to your specific event or project — whether that's a live embroidery activation, a bespoke custom commission, or an embroidered product order. Get in touch with your brief and WOVEN STORIES will come back with a detailed proposal.

How far in advance should I book?

For live embroidery events, as early as possible — Sydney dates book out quickly, particularly around peak seasons like Christmas, fashion week, and end of year events. For custom embroidery commissions, lead time is confirmed at enquiry depending on complexity and current availability.

How do I get in touch?

Email enquiries to hello@woven-stories.com.au. Include your event date, location, guest numbers, and a brief outline of what you have in mind — and WOVEN STORIES will come back to you with a tailored proposal.

Can you work with our existing products?
